To fully utilize the RM 1,000 fund sponsored by Maxis, our team have planned a series of programmes with the aim to introduce WacKOS to the Kulliyyah of Science community, and consequently propel the project forward. Below are a list of the programs as well as details.
- WacKOS Promotion Week
- WacKOS Recruitment Week
- WacKOS Committee Empowerment Workshop
- WacKOS Book Drive and RC Rearrangement
A 4-day promotional activity was organized from 24th to 28th September at KOS, which involved campaigns by three ”Sandwich Men,” distribution of free pamphlets and Nescafe 3 in 1 sachets, and a display of the artistic renditions of the future WacKOS Cafe and Resource Centre (RC). In addition, KOS students were given the opportunity to apply for sub-committee posts under the Research and Development, Marketing and Promotions, Human Resource, and Finance bureaus of WacKOS.
Fresh from promo week and armed with the list of registered applicants for sub-committees, WacKOS subsequently organized a Walk-In Interview Week for the Working Committee of WacKOS. The walk-in interview was done to hunt out wacky, fun-loving and committed individuals as potential members of the WacKOS workforce.
At the end of the recruitment week, a one day workshop for successful applicants was organized in order to properly introduce them to WacKOS’ management board, as well as immerse them in our unique philosophy. The workshop is designed to instigate the smooth integration of all WacKOS Committee members consequent to their appointment as members of WacKOS Committee. The workshop also aims to engage all members in a two-way discussions and brainstorming activities in regards to issues surrounding the WacKOS Project. At the end of the workshop, new sub committee members were celebrated with an iftar (break-fast) together with the main board members and our project advisor, Kamarul Rahim Kamarudin.
Finally, to initiate the setting up of the WacKOS Cafe and Resource Centre, we agreed to first furnish the RC with books. Hence, the remaining fund was utilized to buy used and new fiction books, as well as the required materials for books coding and arrangement. In addition, all WacKOS Committee Members joined together in a one-day gotong-royong in effort to re-arrange the RC according to our proposed layout plan.
